I am an article marketer. Unfortunately, I'm not a professional, and I'm still learning. A year into this article marketing gig, I decided I'd start my own article marketing blog for a number of reasons. This blog to me is a
record of my progress
a topic I'm interested in
long-term goal
slow way to enter the Internet marketing niche
There a few common problems lots of people run into, especially when first getting into the Internet marketing game. The problems with all these "gurus" out there is that when they say they'll tell you all their "secrets" for a small fee, and just this one time, bla bla bla you know the pitch – they do so in such a vague way that it leaves you just as confused as before.
I don't know the secrets – not yet anyway. I've learned quite a bit this year – I'm making about $1,000 USD a month now. Nothing like the billion dollars a year promised by some of these schemes out there, but good enough to keep me interested and striving to make more.
So what can you get from this blog? It depends on how far you are down the road of learning about article marketing. For an experience person, probably not much. Like I said, I'm still learning.
If you're new and trying to find resources, this will probably have some good stuff for you, depending on how soon you stumble across my site. It's a work in progress and I've got other sites to work on, so Article Marketing Insights is kind of on the back burner.
Why?
One thing I've realized recently is that sites with time and consistent updates get ranked. Posts and pages I make for sites I created a year ago rank better than new sites, and they stay there. I'm too green to jump into the Internet marketing game just yet. The competition is too high and I don't
know enough yet to do battle with IM giants who are backed by full incomes. However, I'm playing the long game. A years worth of blogging about article marketing should give me some authority in Google's eyes, and I'll start really pushing it next year.
For now you can learn along with me. I'll probably put some promotional stuff on the site, but I can promise you that I won't directly promote stuff to you that doesn't work. The truth is that to make big money in marketing, you're going to have to buy some tools to help you along the way – and it's tough to buy when marketers are selling marketing tools and everything is "Guaranteed to make you millionaire".
I'll try to keep the BS to a minimum.
Leave a comment and I'll try to find it amongst all the spam.
